A US Chess Federation (USCF) blitz-rated speed chess tournament
When: January 21st, 2023
Where: Memorial Middle School
1050 SW Queen Ave, Albany, OR 97321.
Parking next to the main entrance on Queen Ave.
Entry fee: $10 + U.S. Chess Federation Membership.
● K-12 memberships available on-site, included in entry-fee.

Pre-Registration: Email name, USCF ID, & section (open or K-8) to
phil.schapker-mendez@albany.k12.or.us by Friday, January 20.
Check-In: Saturday 9:15-9:45 am.
Time Controls: Game in 5 minutes with 5 second bonus.
Rounds (Open Section) :
Sat. 10:00am, 10:25, 10:50, 11:15; lunch at 12 noon. Fay’s Cafe on Queen is a 1 minute walk.
12:55, 1:20, 1:45, 2:10, 2:35, 3:00, 3:25. (Times subject to change as necessary.)
Six players will involve a USCF-rated double round-robin (10 games).
Twelve players results in a single round-robin (11 games).
Other numbers of players will involve combined round-robin and Swiss pairing.
Rounds (K-8 Section) :
Sat. 10:00am, 10:15, 10:30, 10:45, 11:00, 11:15, 11:30, 11:45, 12:00, 12:15.
Prizes (Open): 1st $40, 2nd $20, 3rd $10, 1st under 18 yrs. age $10, based on 10 players.
More or less than 10 players will be prorated.
Prizes (K-8): 1st $20, 2nd $10.
Bring your chess sets and chess clocks. Scholastic section: all boards/clocks provided.

2 sections:
$5  Three 25-minute games (NWSRS-Rated, no membership required. Qualifier for the OSCF State Championship in Seaside, OR)
$15 USCF-rated Blitz – 5 min, 5 sec delay – prizes. (USCF Membership required, sold on site)
