the Corvallis Chess Club will be hosting a 3+2 speed chess tournament on Saturday, June 3rd at Memorial Middle School in Albany, OR
Registration will run from 9-9:45, and play starts at 10:00am.
Time control: 3 minutes, 2 sec. bonus. 10 rounds swiss pairing. (A chess clock is used, Each player has 3 minutes for all their moves plus 2 seconds is added each time they move. Swiss pairing: after the first round, players with similar scores will play each other.)
Entry fee is $10.
Please let Phil Schapke Mendez phil.schapker-mendez@albany.k12.or.us know by Friday afternoon, June 2nd, if you plan to attend. I need first/last name, USCF ID, expiration date, and section you intend to play in.
Two sections: Adult/Open, and K-8. If there are enough players, I may add a K-5. Students K-12 who do not currently possess USCF ID’s: USCF ID’s are included in the registration cost. Just let me know ahead of time.
The minimum cash prize for the open is $30. Other prizes TBD based on turnout.

Location: Corvallis High School, 1400 NW Buchanan Avenue, Corvallis, OR 97330 Cost: $15 per player, (cash or check only)
$5 discounts for siblings or teams with 3+ players. Sections: Open/Collegiate, K-5, K-8, and K-12.
Players can play in higher sections based on skill level.
Rules (K-12): 5 rounds Swiss pairing. Game in 25 mins per side. NWSRS Rated.
Team score = the sum of scores for the top 4 players.
Individuals can play without a team.
Games serve as qualifiers for the OSCF State Championship in Seaside, OR.
Rules (Open): Appx 14 rounds. Round-Robin or Swiss pairing depending on # of players. Game in 5 mins with 2 second increment. USCF membership required.
Scholastic Prizes:
Trophies for top 3 teams in each section
Medals for top finishers in each section
